My 2020 Planner Setup: Digital Planning
I have used all sorts of planners over the years. These past two years alone I've used a combination of planners. A few of my favorites are the Passion Planner, Happy Planner, and the bullet journal. Each planner had its pros and cons, but ultimately they all helped keep me organized in some way.
The Passion Planner has the days mapped out by the hour. The Happy Planner line has so many different layouts (and extensions) that you can customize your planner any way you want. Then with a bullet journal, the spreads can be whatever I choose for that day, week, or month. I enjoyed using each one of them.
Fast forward to Christmas 2018, I was gifted a 6th generation iPad and Apple Pencil. I purchased and downloaded the Goodnotes app and was able to experiment with digital note-taking during the last two semesters of my undergrad. I like that I was able to either type or handwrite my notes. I could make changes, copy, and paste things easily. The best part of it all was that I didn't have to worry about papers being all over the place. Everything was stored in the app. It was the best of both worlds.
That being said, this year I’ve decided to try out digital planning. I purchased a few different digital planners from Etsy. The first was the 2020 Dated Black Digital Planner from Star City Designs. As the name suggests it's a black page planner, it has weekly, daily, and monthly layouts. It also has a lot of extra pages like contact sheets, project planning sheets, and even grocery lists. I also purchased the Ultimate Digital Planner Kit from Digital Planner Tools (DPT). It includes 2 planners, a fitness planner, tons of notebooks, some digital stickers, and even a recipe book. I was given a half-off code after making a previous purchase so I was able to snag this entire bundle for $10. That's a steal considering all the digital goodies that are included.
This is my current planner setup:
I use the Black Page planner for my daily to-do lists, the 2020 dated DPT planner to layout me and my son's schedules, and the DPT fitness planner to log my health & wellness. You can check out a few of my layouts here.
